A New Type Bionic Foldable Wing Design for High Maneuverable Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

With the improvement of aircraft requirements in civil and military fields, are developing towards direction high efficiency multi-mission. Foldable wing with large deformation capability will be able to meet flight performance under different conditions. Based on bionic design concept, a feather-like foldable morphing based multi-link mechanism from characteristics birds was designed. In order validate feasibility proposed conception, UAV wings fabricated. The aerodynamic prototype model tested working conditions by wind tunnel test test. simulation experimental showed that has excellent longitudinal transverse directional aerodynamics. When is symmetrically morphing, optimal lift-to-drag ratio can maintained flow velocities. asymmetrically it replace aileron achieve an efficient roll maneuver.
